Fitting extras to a Mk1 C5 (2001)

Post by jrc5 »

Hi Guys I am new to these forums but have been reading and searching them for the last few weeks.
I have recently brought myself a new (to me) C5 estate 2.0hdi (90hp I think). This isn't my first C5 I had a 2.0hdi 110hp exclusive se with all the extras a few years back, needless to say I'm currently missing a few of those options.

I am looking at retrofitting cruise control which seems simple enough, just need to find someone close to me in Kent that would be kind enough to sort out the lexia side of things for me once I have sourced the parts (switch to go under the glovebox & the stalk).

My C5 is according to the V5C - LX trim and as such has a rubbish display which doesn't really tell me anything. So I was thinking about swapping over to the triple line display, however I'm unsure if the display is plug and play, or if i need to fit sensors/switches, or if lexia activation is required.

Also I have searched the forums and also google but nothing pops up for it, is it possible to retrofit electric windows in the rear? If so what is required?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I don't know about the electric rear window upgrade but I fitted the three line display and the speedo/rev counter pot from an SX to my 52 reg LX and they both worked straight away. Hope this is of some help . G.

pop out the window switch on drivers door and see what wiring is there. Rear window car will have extra connections surely like for the button to disable the rears.

Im useing an lx hdi auto and needed to fit a rear door lock and from what It seemed to me the wires were there for the window motor in the door.

early c5s in mark one DO NOT need the key code card to activate the cruise in the engine ecu. I fitted a cruise stalk to two mk.1s one my lx and a 2004 vtr for someone. Pop the stalk in then with lexia you change the config in the engine ecu only.. no need to access the bsi which is what needs the key code.
