ok,
after a long battle I managed to get the clip on(easy bit) and then wind the cable round the spool and put it back in place(hard bit)......the window now works,the only problem I have is that every so often the spool comes away from the regulator and stops working,I just push it back on and it's ok again.I have a feeling that there should be a metal cover that covers half of the spool to stop this happening...does anyone know if this is the case,and more importantly where I could get one without paying out 50 quid for the whole regulator ??
