Re: C5 Facelift SIDE LIGHTS
If you mean the "eyebrow", the part that is touching the bonnet, I've tried to replace them on my dad's C5, but didn't find anything appropriate LED, because the connector is a H6W, and the hole where the bulb needs to go is really small (the bulb part mustn't be bigger than the bayonet connector in diameter), so the options are limited ... I've tried with the Philips Blue Vision bulbs, but the output wasn't whiter/better than the standard ones (I believe Osrams) ...
Re: C5 Facelift SIDE LIGHTS
The bulbs also have offset pins on them as the correct original ones are halogens as they need to be quite bright to be seen at all. Halogens should last a long time, although they are expensive compared to normal bulbs (£7 each I think). Personally, I wouldn't bother with the hassle just to have LED lights.

Re: C5 Facelift SIDE LIGHTS
ive got leds, they dont light up the strip at all, but they were cheap and should not blow so i have left them as i needed my second (same side) front side light in a year and half. same at the back on the boot, although they look alright with the more traditional light/reflector setup.
Re: C5 Facelift SIDE LIGHTS
The C5 halogen sidelights are notorious for failing, and are fiddly to renew (tip - use a short length of rubber tubing pushed onto the rear of the lampholder). I replaced mine, which were both blown, as soon as I bought the car, with cheapish LEDs from Amazon, which have been trouble-free ever since, and have passed two MOTs.

Re: C5 Facelift SIDE LIGHTS
oh yeah when i did it i filed down the two ridges on the bulb holder that orientate the hole it slides into, it is now much easier to put them in and pull them out when needed.
