Please help,
My remote key worked intermittently. I changed the battery and it was still the same however I noticed that a piece of paper had been lodged inside the key fob from a previous repair.
Anyway it now needs a new circuit board as whilst trying to work out if there was a dry joint on the board the unlock button snapped off B****![:(]
1. Can Citroen test the car easily with a master key to confirm intermitent problem was the key fob[?]
2. How much is the Internal board likely to cost[?]
3. I've read threads about changing the pod, can the pod be split so that my original key can be used in new pod[?]
So many questions. I've looked at previous threads but people seem to confuse the old style fobs with the newer ones.
Many thanks,
Howie...

1. there is no such thing as a master key.the button was probably getting weak & thats why it snapped.
2. i think a new remote is about £50+vat.
3. i dont know if the board is avialable seperately on a xantia 2,if you have to buy a new remote then buy a keyblde rivet kit at the same time so you can swap the original key blade to it.as its an HF plip i think these can only be coded with a citroen computer using the 4 figure transponder code, youll need to have all the vehicles keys present when this is done or they will be deleted.im not aware if there is another way to do this without the computer.

I have succesfully soldered the button back onto the circuit board. (newer style RF plip).
Well I say succesfully. I've done the same button twice. First attempt lasted about 8 months. We will see if the second attempt was any better in about six months time.
As long as you have the button and the board you have nothing to lose by trying.
