Probably not the turbo. They are very reliable on the HDI.jacksun1987 wrote:what could it be is it the turbo or somthing else
You've probably just confused the hell out the ECU or damaged something by shorting the sender. You need to get it on a Lexia to find out what. My guess is that it thinks it's too hot and gone into limp home mode because of the sensor fiddling you did.
You have to remember just about everything is linked to an ECU in these cars and fiddling and shorting stuff out isn't like it used to be on ancient cars - on these modern cars it can really bugger things up.

Try this Jacksun
PSA BSI reset procedure
Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).
Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.
Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.
Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.
Remove key open & close door test central locking system.
Start the engine and complete the system's check.
Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.
Hope this helps

Re: xantia exc 99 t reg hdi 110 turbo problems
Dont bother. Xantias dont have a bsi unit so that wont help you..
limp mode will need a lexia to sort it out. No other way about it.
wastegates need a vaccuum to close else it stays open without one.. so no turbo boost.
Vaccuumm is delivered via one of the electro valves by the drivers sphere on the left.
if its dead try swapping with the other one but MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL PIPE CONNECTIONS THE SAME.
its a small issue. But while in limp mode you have no chance of testing the turbo boost.
daft to get rid for something smal.
my xantia is on 284k and has no turbo problems what so ever. These are theast of engines with good strong mechanicals.
