Unidentifiable ECU

Unread post by Old-Guy »

I'm packing away the items salvaged from the VSX, adding any missing from my For Sale and Wanted listing. Amongst them is a black plastic ECU from under the centre console. It has 2 big multi-way sockets and printed in white:
  • H7
    96 265 050 80 000
    kiekert AG
    4050 5440 001
    Antiscanning
there's nothing on it that looks like a Citroen part number and I can't even find a section on service.citroen that shows the immobiliser keypad let alone the related ECU.
As an anonymous black box (literally), I can't give it a useful description, let alone a part number! It's not under Immobiliser, Alarm, Locking/Unlocking, Central Door Locking, or anything else that seems remotely relevant!

Can anyone identify it for me please or point me at the obscure service.citroen section that should list it?

That 96 number looks like a Citroen part number to me. (Most Citroen part numbers of that era including spheres started with 96) A google search turns up this:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=96+265 ... gws_rd=ssl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks like its some sort of central locking controller ?

Trust me, it's the alarm/deadlocking controller. The regular S1 controller form simple central locking and no alarm, is 6547VG and looks very different.

Thanks Addo.

I too Googled the number, but came to the conclusion that, like so many, this ebay seller didn't really know what he was selling. He had done more or less what I'd done - stripped a load of parts from a scrapper without knowing for certain which ECU did what. I removed it because I needed another part of the harness that plugged into it and the ECU just unclipped, so I dropped it in the crate with all the other bits.

Just the word antiscanning would lead me to the conclusion it is some form of alarm/lock controller.

Running google translate on some polish google hits for that number leads to pug 406 "comfort module", which again makes some sense for central locking/auto-window roll/alarm etc.
