Fault Code P05D2

Post by jmd »

After running a check with my Lexia, the following message shows-
1. no communication with the Steering Wheel angle sensor incorrect value received Fault Code P05D2.
2 Remote Fault. Temporary Fault Data Invalad Engine ECU incorrect value received P05D2'

Can anybody explain what this means, or suggest a way of curing the fault ?

hey, what car is it ? i would search, see if you have that sensor on your car, where is it located ? and what does it do ? why is it important ? it may be something to forget about. or something that needs to be sorted.
it is always worth testing the sensor you have - does it have a good earth and such , before just buying and replacing
good luck

Car is a Citroen C5.1.6 Hdi, year 06.No idea where this sensor is situated, or if it exists. But I presume it does?

Ive just read on other posts threads here that it probally just needs recalibrating with Lexia. it seems to be quite a common problem after new tyres/ wheel swapping tracking and the likes. its only effect of not working is on the ABS ESP programs. under normal driving you will be fine, but if you will need these systems they may be unreliable. need to track someone down who can plug a computer in and do the recalibration.

Cannot seem to figure out if the lexia will do the necessary recalibration here or not, There is no undue pull to either side when driving or no apparent adverse effects on the steering, nor any uneven tyre wear.

I would clear them and see if the come back  The code No looks as odd, as they are usually just numbers, but this is Lexia after all 8-)

Steering angle sensor is part of the COM2000 indicator / wiper stalk unit, and is used as part of the ESP and hydractive suspension. From what I understand a temporary fault on it is almost mandatory!
