Sorry guys for harping on about my problem with the abs light, managed to locate a abs ecu for only £100 +vat..
Wanting to know is it just straight forward as removing the connectors off old abs ecu and changing with new or will this need any sought of re-mapping or re-programming as well..
Thanx in advance GUYS

It can be a bit awkward changeing the ECU, you will have to unplug the connector off the top of the ECU (easy) you then need to remove the two bolts holding the ECU onto the Valveblock ( this is fiddely as the fuse box restricts access to these bolts). There is also a spring clip to release on the bottom of the ECU were it plugs into the Valveblock, when you get the one from the scrappy have a look were this clip is to help in locating the one already in your car, it is underneath the ECU when fitted and not to easy to access. There is no programming required.
The valveblock is the hydroulic part of the ABS system, the ECU plugs in to this(electrically) and is also bolted to it with 2 bolts. The valveblock is bolted to the car, this valveblock has various hydroulic pipes screwed into it, the ECU is the electronic part of the ABS system, and the valve block is the hydroulic part, they are connected and bolted to one another. The ECU is rectangular about 150mm * 100mm in shape about 25mm thick with a connector on the top of it and a connector on the bottom side. The connector on the top connects to the wiring loom to provide the ECU with its power supply and connections from the wheel sensors etc., the connector on the bottom connects the ECU to the valveblock. If your ECU is faulty I am assuming you are only going to change that and not the complete ECU and Valveblock.
