2005 C5: eolys level message

I got the low additive level message earlier this week after filling the car up with motion lotion. 2005 C5 2.0 HDi, 106K miles.

Question: how crucial is it to top up now? Should I top it up ASAP, or can this wait for another couple of fuel tanks? How many litres of Eolys are needed to fully top it up?

I have the 1L Eolys refill kit (I was anticipating this), just need to find someone local with a Lexia to reset the counter.

I would avoid filling the car up again without topping up. Got the same message around the same time as you.

From memory when I did mine on the mk1 it took approx 3.5 litres. Reset my counter with a Launch x431 diagnostic machine. You should be ok for a few tank fulls but I would not risk using the car too much.

My eolys pump has failed, i carry a bottle of eolys fluid in the boot and a small pipete, every refill i squirt a little in the tank.
The costs involved in getting a new tank with integral pump and a refill ecu are just ridiculous compared to the DIY approach.
