Citroen C8 - How difficult to get a part???!!!!

Post by brmartyn »

Hi everyone, hopefully somebody can help point me in the right direction........

I'm currently replacing the diesel particulate filter on my C8, at the rear of the DPF is a small metal pipe which connects to the pressure sensor the official part number from Citroen/Peugoet is 1714J8(particular filter pressure pipe) . Endlessly for about 4 days now I've searched the net/contacted independent parts companies just to try and get hold of this small part without going direct to Citroen or Peugeot and being charged a stupid price!!!! Can anybody suggest a good breakers or french car parts specialist?

If this helps I've found a link to a site which replaces the whole exhaust system. They call the part a' Rear Transfer Pipe', on the image it is part number 10440.

You may be surprised, parts like that usually don't cost much and would be very easy to get through a stealer...
It could be proving to be such a PITA to source as they're not perceived to be valuable enough to resell?

That part is showing as £43.13 including VAT on Service Citroen. Must say it does look rather a lot for something that looks like a glorified brake pipe. Looks like the sort of thing a hydraulic pipe repair company could knock up. Might still be more than £43 for a one off but you never know.

I've also seen on service Citroen £43. This is why I'm trying to find an alternative to the main dealer.
