C5 2.0 Hdi Auto stalling when stopping car

Unread post by Duracell »

Hi

Our 8v 2.0Hdi auto C5 has started stalling when pulling up (worse when cold)- it also emits black smoke when pulling away after about 30 secs of idle, and fuel economy has deteriorated - Apart from that it starts and drives ok. I am unable to do a Lexia check as I have been unable to get my Lexia working on my new laptop, so wondered if anybody could suggest any starting points - I've already swapped the MAF for the nearly new OEM one in our other C5, with no change of symptons.

What is the state of the air filter? Black smoke can mean (amongst other things) that the air filter is elderly and has got blocked.
