I wonder if it would help by using a more current version of Diagbox (it is now up to at least 7.43)? Try checking on this list;

Thanks Hell Razor,
My interface is a chinese clone I bought a couple of years ago..... i think it only supports upto 5.40... originally I was using CD47 Lexia... but had the same problem parts greyed out... don't know why but it used to be usable??

Tried to install 6.01 and had no luck.

My car is a 2003 C8

The Chinese clone firmware got blacklisted, and Diagbox will only go up to 5.29. Some people know how to update the firmware and allow later versions of Diagbox to work (but I don't know how to do this).

Just tried pp2000 and I got as far as putting in the keycode for the keys!!......it then said BSI blank...

i have also managed to get the BSI now matched to the ECU again...

Also forgot to add that when I look into the BSI config it all seems correct....

Can anyone help or suggest something...anything!!

Tracing my steps back...... looks like this was self inflicted.

I did a BSI download update.... it now says that the BSI has the latest update...but won't work

From searching forum apparently some BSI's don't take updates well.....newbie (ish) lesson don't mess with what you think you understand!

Seriously can anyone help....I'm right in the doooo daaaa with this... no car..

I don't know if this can be done, but what I would do (if I knew it would work) would be to find somebody with a similar aged and spec. C8, read the firmware and save it to a file, and then write the file back to your C8. However, I do NOT know if it is possible to read and save the firmware from a car (I know that it is normally possible to do so from the BIOS chip of a PC, but we are talking computers here, not cars).

It's theoretically possible to do that, but not with the Lexia software, you would need some special 3rd party software that ECU unlockers use that is capable of downloading the firmware and uploading arbitrary versions.

Firmware updates are a one way process only on a Lexia - it will only allow you to update the firmware if a newer version exists but if there isn't a newer version or you're already on the newest version you cannot force it to re-flash the same version, nor can you force it to downgrade to an older version.

I found this out the hard way when I updated the firmware in my Xantia gearbox and realised that one of the new "features" (listed cryptically in the update notes) is that it purposely holds first gear to 3200 rpm for the first two minutes of driving after a cold start to help heat up the catalytic converter quicker - something that I find extremely obnoxious when leaving for work as I end up driving the first quarter of a mile in 1st gear as I can't quite get fast enough for it to change to second while slaloming my way through the narrow parked car infested streets... I can override it with manual gear changes in snow mode but it's a pain.

If I could downgrade the firmware to the previous version I would, but I can't.... :( (at least not with a Lexia)

So anyone considering a firmware update via a Lexia beware - not only is there potential for it to fail completely and brick the ECU, even a successful update may make behavioural changes that you don't like and can't undo!

You and me both found out the hard way then!

So can it be virginalised by a specialist...then replaced back into vehicle?

Thanks

SORTED!!

In a last ditch attempt the other night I finally got back control of my car!!

1. Key in ignition turned on and off the ignition repeatedly about 10 times.
2. used PEUGEUOT PLANET not Lexia to connect to my Citroen C8 car.
3. went into the menu to add a key....entered code....and VOILA! it accepted it.
4. Unplugged everything turned off etc and put key back in ignition held lock button down and BINGO it beeped!!
5. Turned the key and the bloody thing started......

I was so releived I didn't want to turn it off!!

Just got to sort the radio now its beeping....vin coding required?.....anyhow that can wait, I think I have used up my goodluck peenies for one week!!!

Thanks for all the help and suggestions..
