I'm hoping someone on here may be able to help me. I have a 57 reg Multispace, done about 60,000m. Never had a problem with the tailgate until today. I use it mostly for taking my dog for her twice daily walk to various locations around where I live. I'm always careful to check the tailgate is properly shut after I put her in: slam the door and then check to make sure it's latched firmly.
Today a lad in a van behind me started hooting while we were stopped at a junction. When I looked round I could see the tailgate was wide open
Obviously got out and shut it, thanked the lad and drove home.
Tried locking, unlocking (centrally) - tugging at the tailgate - couldn't find any reason why it should have opened.
From now on I'll shut it and manually lock it - will this prevent it happening again?
Any ideas why it should have happened?
