Hi Folk,
I'd to get my car towed to a garage last night after it developed a high pressure LDS fluid leak from the rear of the car... I don't know names of parts but the description of what happened is as follows:
I'd stopped the car, it's a C5 2.0 HDI on a 52 plate, outside the pub to drop my wife and friends off when I noticed what looked like steam coming out the bonnet but on getting out the car there was actually what looked like a jet of steam escaping from the NSR of the car between the back wheels..... there looks to be a smallish box attached to the car, more or less centrally, with at least two hydraulic pipes going into with this jet of vapour coming out towards the kerb on the passenger side but hitting the road behind the back wheel.... I contacted the break down company and in the hour it took them to arrive the rear suspension was on its lowest setting but the front was still still sitting ok so obviously whatever the issue is it's only affecting the rear suspension.
I know it's not much of a description but any help in diagnosing the likely culprit with names and or part numbers would be a great help and a rough idea of costs.... I've already spent in the last year over £700 keeping this car on the road and despite the costs I'm loathe to buy something else and just buy someone else's problems.
As always your help and input is greatly appreciated.
Regards
Peter

Re: C5 High Pressure LDS Fluid Leak
I would suspect that a pipe has corroded and failed.

Re: C5 High Pressure LDS Fluid Leak
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the reply. My usual garage hasn't been able to look at the car today as the boss was in on his own all morning. He did try to get it on the MOT ramp but it wouldn't drive on as the tow bar was catching so he's going to have to leave I to Monday and come up with a solution.
