Bug in service.citroen

Post by Old-Guy »

The other evening, citroen.service successfully confused me. I was trying to compare the (sunroof) parts fitted to XANTIA v. XANTIA II. I looked up the relevant sub-section under "XANTIA" (leaving VIN, 'body profile' and 'engine' all blank) and did a couple of screen dumps of the relevant pages. Then I retraced my steps to the model selection page and chose "XANTIA II", went down to the same sub-section which showed me an exploded drawing but no parts list. This fooled me into thinking that sunroofs weren't ever fitted to S2 Xantias.

Last night I tried again but this time in reverse (XANTIA II) first. Same result - no parts list for XANTIA. Then I logged out and back in and tried XANTIA again. Success. Clearly service.citroen can't cope with a model change unless you log out and back in.

Works fine for me.... :?

How are you going back to change the model? You need to click on the 'new' link under Vehicle at the LHS of the screen, otherwise I don't think it 'releases' the cookie or whatever it is using to determine what model you have selected.

you can always do an all families search with part No.'s from either MK1 or 2,
this will tell you all other mocels thise part No.'s fit,

double check other models shown though as there data base sometimes seems to get a bit confused, and comes up saying a part will fit X model,
but when you sel;ect it said part No. is no were to be seen

Good point Malcolm, but I was trying to do the reverse - work out what differences there were across ALL Xantia sunroofs with particular reference to the motor unit. There are 3 different motors, but as far as I can work out they are all interchangeable across all Xantias - though Paul (CitroenXM) says S2 have a different cassette and he's stripped enough to know.

I suspect that the problem I experience may be down to differences between Windoze and Linux.

so just enter each ( one at a time ) of the three different part No.'s into an all families search, this will/should tell you all models those motors are fitted to
