306 starter

Hi, my wifes 306 needed a new starter, the old one would not en gauge,it just made an horrible noise. I have replaced it with a new one. but my question is ; is it possible to repair the old one? cheers Terry.

Possible but I would not think economical, its probably either the solenoid or the pinion that has failed and I doubt if you could get them as separate items other than at a scrap yard where you would be able to get a good complete starter for very little money.

Woodauto furnish many replacement parts for these, also there is a Polish company called AS who sell bits wholesale to quite a bit of Europe.
