Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
Hi All,
Thoughts on the following;
Wish to remove anti-sink sphere( sphere is turning but flare spanner is turning on nut, t would appeared to have been rounded off) but the hydraulic pipe is not budging for love or money. Have tried mule grips but still turning?
What do I do
Do I cut pipe at both ends and attempt to remove from K joint, I have replacement available.
Is there another way
Thoughts guys and gals
Kenny

If you are not getting it with the mole grips then you might have to sacrifice the pipe. If you can get plug gas on the other end and manage to slacken that end off then (given you have a spare pipe) you have little to lose. Last thing you want is a broken pipe and not be able to get the other end out of the K connector.
Good luck
Rory

Rory,
Had experience of the K joint which supplies the rear brakes and had to renew 3 pipes including front to back. Hence the posting.

Re: Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
Hi All,
I'd thought I would post a little update:
Took off the anti sink sphere and found pipe end stuck fast so had to remove K joint and other 2 lines
Out of curiosity I tried to remove 4.5 mm pipe end from sphere it was solid and the 4.5 mm end broke up with small 9mm socket used.
But he good news all 3 ends removed from K joint . I've just to remove front end from block of 4 connectors at bulk head, this is PITA.
Hopefully completed tomorrow.

Re: Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
On Sunday I replaced the pipe from anti-sink sphere to K-joint. Took me about 2 hours to undo the bolt from K-joint and not to damage the other 2 pipes. Really a nasty job requiring nerves of steel! My SWMBO heard me about 50metres away when I was cursing... So she came to take a look what's happening. The minute she came into the workshop I managed to undo the bolt. I don't know who was more afraid of the consequences if it didn't undo... Me or the bolt?

Re: Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
Well guys I bashed on with fitting the new plumbing and surprise surprise the old girl didn't want to part company with the pipe end in the engine compartment.
I unscrew the top pipe to connector no problem but the bottom refused to budge.
So I'm going to purchase a new 3.5mm connector and bypass the difficult one.
The story continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
Kenny, Have a look at my thread.
http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 0&start=30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I ended up twisting the bank of connectors off their bracket .. you'll only need to twist off 1.
I used a 12mm spanner moving it back and fore till the weld failed.
Not the easiest to access is it? I'm having flashbacks thinking about it.
Good luck.

Re: Anti-sink sphere !!!!!!!!!!!
Well fitted all pipes together and started citrobotics then leak from front bulk head. It looks like return rear suspension supply is leaking on bulk head wall. Pipe is rusty. It looks like the rear HC to front pipe and this pipe is joined to rubber pipe which joins octopus piping.
Another day with vehicle but have bicycle.

Chris,
Its typical hydraulic plumbing I remember it with my rear brakes. I have only one problem when I checked service citroen for my vehicle they did not have size for the pipe.
Will check for all Xantia's and see if it is there.
