Hello again all,
Tried searching for beeps and not much information comes up.
This is additional information to the other recent threads I have started regarding other issues.
I noticed that when I turn the ignition off on the S2 Xantia and remove the key, something beeps twice. Have seen a thread about a C5 with 3 beeps but that is on ignition on on that issue.
Also, noticed that with the car running (not tried it without car running) that when I put foot on the brake pedal I can hear an increase in fan speed which is set to Auto. It sounds as though it may be the fan on the cabin temp sensor increasing in speed but it is hard to hold the clutch in (to eradicate release bearing rumble) and press brake pedal and put ear on sensor outlet all at the same time.
Has anyone else noticed this? It is probably linked to my temp gauge issue perhaps or the airbag light being on.
Strange beep on ignition off and increase in speed of sensor

Re: Strange beep on ignition off and increase in speed of se
The thing with increasing fan speed set on auto when you put foot on brake pedal is almost something normal at xantia (is about climate fan). If it bothers and want to solve, you have to change + power feed on climate ECU. At S2 the climate ecu is fed from fuse F12, and from this fuse is also fed the brake lights and reverse lights. Because the + feed wire on this route is undersized there is e voltage drop when you put foot on brake pedal. The voltage drop is also on + feed at climate ecu and also on the wire from climate to speed fan regulator.
The speed fan increases because the speed regulator work on principle lower voltage->higher speed fan.
Hope this explanation will help.

Hi
That is a full and brilliant reply. Thanks.
It doesn't bother me in particular. The two beeps are of more concern.
I thought that maybe the increase in fan speed was another marker of impending doom on the electrics with a few things being wrong at the moment.

Is the car an automatic? If so, it is possible that the double beep is happening when you have stopped the car, put her in neutral with the handbrake on, and turned off the ignition. Putting her in park stops the beeps happening.
