Xantia wing mirror rebuild, possible?

Post by John Plum »

Have you ever taken a Xantia wing mirror apart and successfully re-assembled it, to rewire it or for some other reason?

If you get the glass in the highest or probably lowest position you will see a wire circlip which you can prise off with a small screwdriver, or similar, I used a bradawl I think, the glass then is free to be removed. Re fit circlip to glass and push on to re fit.
Where in London are you?
Cheers

Neat. Thanks Paul. I'm in West London, Northolt, when I'm there.

Not far from you, in Burnt Oak, Edgware. It's always struck me as odd that there are very few forum members in London given the population, yet there is a strong Scottish and northern contingent.

Well I'll message you when I'm down next, Paul.
Yes, it's probably due to the nature of London Citroen owners - perhaps overall they tend buy and sell, rather than keep cars long term, unless its classic vintage, and most of those live in the suburbs or Home Counties. Lack of garages etc., these days.
