Guys,
Tend to get a specialist to look at aircon but I'm giving a '96 Xantia a look soon with u/s aircon and no heater blower. Was OK then it all stopped over a few days when the driver thinks it was on/off at random for a while.
All owner replaceable fuses have been checked.
Anyone had similar or any ideas?
Thanks,
David

Yes had it been a non-aircon car the resister pack would have been my first port of call. I've a failed spare in the workshop bridged to give maximum speed so I can use it as a test substitute.
But the fact that the aircon light doesn't come on when you press the button...and the fact that the aircon compressor doesn't cut in....seemed odd.
Wonder if there is one electronic control unit somewhere that feeds both the heater fan and the aircon unit??

Had a look and found someone's been in there previously. Lots of non-Citroen wiring near the motor and signs of melting at the connector plugs. The electronic regulator pack (part of the motor on an air-con car) is u/s for certain so I'll get one of those.
But I wonder if anyone has a source of a wiring diagram for the air-con/blower system (I already have a diagram for the standard car). There are extra small wires to the blower on this one that I assume to be fed from some sort of control unit on the air-con, I would like to be sure what they should be doing.
Thanks,
David
