Now the cold/damp weather is upon us I have discovered that the heating in the drivers side mirror is not working (xantia 1.9 TD). Is it worth me investigating or shall I just buy another ?

Take the glass out, stick a multimeter in the connectors, and check for voltage.
I'd also check the resistance on the mirror connectors, total resistance would indicate a fault, there has to be some there to provide the heat !
Does anyone know when they're supposed to come on, is it only with the back heater, because some modern cars use the temperature sensor to automatically heat them.
