V6 spheres

Unread post by Lancaster-c5 »

Hi . Could anyone give me the part numbers for the front corner spheres on my s1 v6 .I have just got two from euro part.
I think they have given me accumulators 620545650. On my old sphere the number is 96238949 .I need to know the euro part number.
Thanks H. :)

May I advise citroen services also known as aep. They are proper specialists and their spheres are far better I find. Their web site is very good too!

If its an accumulator sphere (or hydractive regulator sphere) it will be missing the damper valve in the neck of the sphere - it will have a hollow in the neck roughly 20mm deep instead of a damper valve protruding slightly. Of course even if it has the damper valve it may still be the wrong sphere. (Not familar with Eurocarparts spheres, I got mine from AEP)

Is the front accumulator a sod to change on the V6 Mandrake?

I don't know - that's the only sphere on the car I haven't changed as Alex changed it a few months before selling me the car. :) (And it still seems to be ok)

It's upside down facing the ground on the front of the gearbox, but I can't recall off the top of my head how much room is around it to swing a sphere removal tool. I assume it would need to be removed from beneath, which means ramps.

To open the pressure regulator bleed screw though you have to remove the air filter box and reach it from the top - the bleed screw faces directly (backwards) towards the gearbox housing with a small awkward gap to access it but is just accessible with a normal ring open ender.

Thanks for the info. Mine's flat. If I end up keeping it, I'll be changing it asap. Clicking every 15 secs or so at the moment. I have a tool.

I've got one you can have - it's a GSF one about 18 months old. Bought it off Greg1100, but never got round to fitting it, and now surplus to requirements....

V6 regulators are a funny setup because yes they are facing down and im sure the plaiedes removal tool will get at it BUT the pressure release screw - the 12mm one. Is actually facing the gearbox and is a slight pain to get at.. but it is possible..

Thank you for all the replies .
Mandrake saves the day , EURO PART had given me two accumulator spheres. When I took them of the car i could see there was no damper in the sphere.
I took them back to EURO PART and they changed them.I also phoned 2 other branches of EURO PART the get the right part number but they gave me 2 different numbers ,one was for a 1.9 D and would not fit a V6.
So if you do go to EURO PART. Hmmmm.always check the part they give you with the part you take off.
