issue with stereo

well I got rid of my Xantia and bought a nice 54 plate Laguna Initiale Sport Tourer. The only issue is that it has satnav. The stereo is made by accompany called Cabasse (whoever they are) as are the speakers. When I turn the car on, the screen that has satnav on says "error" I have been told its because of the radio code. I have been through all the manuals and cant find it. Does anyone know if this is the error that is displayed on the screen and does anyone also know if I can get the code for it without paying massive amounts to Renault. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Do you know if the sat nav has got it's data disc installed? If the radio code was missing I would expect that the radio wouldn't work either. Usually radio codes can be worked out from the identifying labels using appropriate software.

there is a satnav installed. I cannot get any sound from either the satnav or the radio tho. tried switching source to cd and radio, no sound. been doing some reading and it pretty much says that the error on the satnav screen refers to the radio needing the code to pump out any sound.
