Drivers seat side Airbag

Xantia 110 Hdi 2001 Hatchback

I've had the airbag light on the dash come on intermittently for a while, its the side airbag light, when I start the car all lights go out then 5 seconds later the side airbag light is on dash, but sometimes it doesn't come on at all.

Side Air bag ECU??

Ive got a spare one I think, Have you tried disconnecting and re connecting the Air Bag connectors under the seat???

Often the cause of the lights comming on, you could even try AFTER battery disconnection, cut the connectors off and solder them together, assuming you wont want to remove the front seats again any time soon!

Side airbag fixed was dirty connection under passenger stripped/ cleaned and plenty of electrolube. done drivers side just in case.
