More probs with Lexia...

Post by harryp »

Doing a session with Diagbox on my series 2 hdi Forte.... Kept getting messages that it could not access the engine, CPH/CPH(?) and Aircon ECU's, followed by a request to input access codes. What is going on? I've never read any reference to this in the earlier topics which seem to be no longer accessible anyway. Any one care to comment - politely please!?? The more I use it the more confused I seem to get.

CPH is the Body Computer..

Ignition needs to be on in the "running" position (engine not litterally running) for the communication.

You need to enter the Chassis number, VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] etc etc.. and also your RP number, on the White sticker on the A pillar inner side when the door is open...

Sorry if you under stand that bit, just trying to work out where your getting stuck, without litterally seeing whats happening.

If its a Xantia you need to enter the VIN but not the RPO. Are you definitely entering the VIN correctly ?

Which sections are you going into after that ?

If you could post a screenshot of the error that would help a lot.

Gents, long delay I know - apologies! Had a session with the car yesterday. Initially all went well, which was a first. It reported turbo pressure low and on running the engine it seems to be about 300mm down at all speeds. It also says something to the effect that there is a problem with the electrovalve being disconnected - but it isn't. What could this refer to? Continuing on I came across a section regarding communication with the chp(cph?) and engine and aircon ECU's and this is where it asks for the codes to configure them? Tried leaving it at 0000 and tried 1234 but to no avail. Is this a dealer only bit of magic? Could not access the aircon any which-way.
I had a side airbag warning light on, so had a grope(!) under both front seats but could not feel any obvious plugs. However it got rid of the warning light and I cleared the fault using Diag. Where are the plugs and are they the "standard" 2 pin rectangular jobs? I would really like to locate and clean them before this happens again.
One final thing; I have tried loading the Service Box CD's about a dozen times to little effect as one or other of disks 2 or 3 are not asked for and rejected if loaded. I now have the senario that it is telling me Disk 1 is corrupt and I notice some small scratches on the surface... It's now that I remember that I should always but always copy CD's and work on the copies - too late. Of course the vendor is no longer on ebay and has not answered my texts to him via paypal. So the questions are can anyone provide me with a copy or let me know where I can download the (bug free) software from. Tried one but it was stopped in its tracks by Norton as it contained a trojan; nice one, possibly because I didn't want all the other software I was supposed to load! Sorry to be so long winded!!

Codes to reprogram ECU settings is a special code on a KeyCard thing that is useually in the "Hand Book" Folder should it all be still with the car.. but often get lost. Its useually a combination of letters and numbers.

Electro valves. Is the Forte a 110 or 90bhp? If its 110, theres TWO electro valves just by the upper Cam belt cover, RIGHT of the drivers suspension sphere. One controls the EGR valve, the other controls the Turbo Wastegate.

citroenxm thanks for reply - it is a 110.

The card I have I assumed was for reprogramming or ordering a new key??

The Diag code asked for, is definitely 4 numbers only and input using the screen keys so no variation allowed. of course, this may be a red herring and not possible.

I checked the plugs and pipes. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the valves are interchangeable, but I do not know if the plugs and pipes are in the correct sequence if you see what I mean. Which pipe goes with which plug??

Ah yea.. as the waste is closed with a CONSTANT vaccum. This is the cut by the electro valve and the waste gate opens.. with no vaccum going to the waste gate you wont have a turbo..

Thanks again, will try removing pipes, swapping plugs tomorrow. Thing is I have a turbo of sorts, but the motor feels very sluggish when cold - not booting it, just taking off gently. Will do another full session and take notes.
