Went to Retromobile and the Aulnay factory in Paris this week with Practical Classics - a road trip with my CX and a Renault Alpine owned by one of the magazine contributors.
CX was faultless (of course!) whilst the Renault was... troublesome!

Some great pictures there James, I suspect your CX enjoyed its drive home.
I really wanted to go to Retromobile but time constraints stopped me, maybe next time.
Do you work for PC now James? I'm an avid reader

Re: CX Road Trip to Paris
Just an occasional contributor Chris - I work at Radio 2 these days.
The trip will be featured in the next issue of Practical Classics - hopefully all the photos of the Renault breaking down won't eclipse those taken of the CX! We came back via The Somme, which was a sobering experience. And in a completely different way, the visit to Aulnay was too. I sat on a wall imagining all those CXs rolling off the production line!

Re: CX Road Trip to Paris
Hoping they'll print all the achievements of the CX. For instance, it was totally untroubled by the cobbles, ruts and potholes of the Parisian road system. It just sailed across the whole city, getting waves and cheers from the locals. Negotiating the Arc De Triomphe was a doddle! Whilst I got bullied last time driving my Smart Roadster there, other drivers let the CX through the chaos with a friendly nod.
Couldn't stop grinning whilst driving up the Champs Elysees! It just felt so 'at home'.
650 miles in two days and the car didn't miss a beat once, wafting effortlessly with the driver in complete comfort. Almost got stuck down a rutted track on The Somme too - but simply switched the suspension to 'high' and plugged through it all. Then got caught out by flood water in Kent. Same applies - suspension up and waded through it and past a stranded BMW 3 Series. CX. Forty years old and still so SO good.
Here's a short video of the trip: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
