Xantia obd2 bluetooth

I have Xantia 1999 2.0 hdi. Though it suffers from no fault, i ordered a cheap obd2 bluetooth adaptor just for fun from china/ebay. I know these ECUs are not fully obd compatible but i was expecting basic things like mpg.

I tried many android apps but none could connect. Only Torque is showing "ECU check ..ok". But i cant monitor throttle, rpm. Says no data.

Anyone with experience of using bluetooth on xantia hdi with bosch ECU?

What kind of data is usually available?

How do i check if i havnt received a faulty obd2?

A 1999 Xantia is not OBD-II compatible, so you will not get any communication with it from an OBD-II reader.

A Lexia is the only diagnostic tool that will connect to it. Sorry.

To test if the OBD-II adaptor works try it on another much newer car. (2005 or later to be certain the car is OBD-II)

my 99 hdi i had same as you mate and it worked fine....one thing i would suggest is start the car then turn on bluetooth then select torque and watch the lights on the obd...they should flash in a running formation...also u need to pair the phone to the obd first so it remembers it on the phone..i think its 1234?

OBD-II compliance wasn't mandated in the EU for diesels until January 1st 2004, so while yours may work taffy there is no guarantee that all HDi's can be read with an OBD-II reader if there is more than one brand/model/revision of HDi ECU used on different Xantia's.

The only way for aneesh to know for sure if his adaptor is faulty is to first test it on a much newer car where OBD-II compliance is guaranteed, then when known to be working try the Xantia again.

I finally managed to get it working with obd car doctor app. WIth torque though it says connected i cant read any data.

With obd car doctor, I can read rpm, and for throttle i just read 0 or 100% depending on the accelerator is pressed or not. Also i can read battery voltage. Other things dont seem to work.

I would appreciate if other members can post their experiences on what they can read with obd bluetooth for xantia including what app they were using.

i was able to read everything apart from fuel pressure..if u got the free torque app try the full version its only 2 pound something but alot more on it...cant think why it would onlygive u a bit of info...have a look through the settings too

When the torque free version doesnt give me any info, can the full version be any better!

The bits of info i am getting was using obd car doctor.

I believe there are a lot of dodgy obd adaptors on sale.

I complained to the seller asking him to send me another one but got refunded instead. Maybe i can try buying another from a reliable source, maybe you could recommend me one.

For xantia its better to get a mini so that the fuse box lid can be closed comfortably.

i unplugged the socket by the fuse box and pulled it to the side so i could close the fuse box lid
