I've been asked to look at a friends Mk1 C5 with flat suspension, ie the car wont rise up on the hydraulics when started. If it were a Xantia I'd be home & dry by now, but the C5 is a different kettle of fish.
On these earlier cars, does the electric pump controlling the hydraulics give problems? Do I need to look at the electronic height adjustment unit? Any other areas of the system I need to consider for starters before I log into Service Citroen?
Thanks, H

Re: C5 Flat suspension
If there is no sound from the pump at all first thing to check is the fuses, it's one of the big maxi fuses on the underside of the under bonnet fuse box. You need to lift out the main fuse box to see it, can't remember which one it is but there are only around 6 maxi fuses. If it has blown it may well be the pump in the BHI unit is starting to seize.

Fuse 8 of 40A is the pump's supply fuse.

There have been several threads touching on this recently.
Have a scan through this lot. A lot of them cross-refer to one another.

Coo! Thanks for all those references, Steve & nice to know I'm not alone in sorting these suspension problems. I'll see how far I get with it & either report back with success or ask for more solutions.
