Xantia water in diesel light issue

Post by mirafioriman »

The water in diesel warning light has been coming on intermittently recently. Today I've drained the water from the filter housing then serviced the car and replaced the fuel filter. This has made no difference it's just the same. Anyone got any ideas? It's a 1994 1.9d

If you disconnect the sensor wires does the light go out? Otherwise it's instrument panel out and remove the bulb.
PSA ditched the sensor a year later as it's not needed.

Mine's come on a couple of times in the last year, after being very well behaved for years. I drain a little fuel off into a jam jar but never see any water droplets, but the warning light then goes out, so happy again :-D

Well, now the sensor is disconnected and touch wood the light hasn't come back on since.

I have had to replace the starter motor today however as the existing one was close to dying permanently.
