Citroen C4 radio reception

Post by 2smv627 »

Hi, just picked up my 2006 C4 VTS and found the radio reception is really bad. It has rt3 navigation/telephone (no telephone reception but navigation seems to work), just wondered what the most likely cause/where to start?
Cheers

Start with the basics, is the aerial plugged in properly in the back? Does it have an aerial booster like some vehicles in the C pillar that is malfunctioning?

Hi, had a quick look this afternoon, aerial connections all seem good -reception is a lot worse with it disconnected. Tried a different sim for the telephone and that works again.
They don`t list a booster for the cars chassis number, but looking at the parts diagram the do show one - perhaps a later version?
I did think about buying a separate radio aerial and stick in the windscreen - anyone tried one thats any good?
Cheers

Some models have an additional aerial in the rear side window.

I get really good reception in mine, but I don't have navigation or phone on it. Or at least not that I know of!

Out of curiosity what colour is your VTS?

Hi, just thought I`d update this, fitted a new aerial base/mast and it works perfect now, wish I`d bought one first time. (It just it was the radio causing the problem in our C5)

Glad you have fixed this. I tried my radio for the 1st time the other day & it is actually very good. Shame they never play anything I want to hear!

On another topic, what about some pictures of the VTS?
