Brakes duff

Post by shiney »

Hi
reversed off my drive today, car parked opposite, I braked and ....nothing so i coasted elegantly into the parked car. I pulled forward and the brakes are operating normally, this also reminded me that last week I got in and the front spoiler scraped on the drive and the front then started to rise up.
Any ideas what could be causing this expensive problemo?

If the car drops as you start it then the anti-sink sphere is flat. This could be the cause of lack of brakes - the pump is lifting the suspension which is means reduced braking power, it would also suggest all is not well with the accumilator sphere. If thats the case the hydraulic low pressure warning light (!) and the STOP light should be illuminated. If they're not, check the lights do actually work and the bulbs aren't blown - they should come on with the second click of the key (acc position)
