Xantia black nylon fuel pipe

Post by Taffyrhys »

Hi all, lovely day

Can anyone tell me if the black nylon fuel pipe running from rear to front for a S2 xantia hdi is 8mm OD and what is the best way to join them together? is it using brass compression fittings? what about push fits.

Also where can you buy the Citroen push fits to join onto the fuel pump in the tank and onto the diesel housing filter as i've looked on ebay and can't see them listed.

All the best Ade

They were most likely to be Dealer only part, which now will be NFP most likely.

Why do you need to change them??

Nylon fuel line is available by the metre in various sizes, as are compatible fittings, from motor factors and diesel specialists.
I used some to plumb-in my fridge!

On my S2 xantia estate there is metal under tray approx. 300mm to 400mm long with alluminium pipes that the rear and front nylon fuel pipe connect into , i suspect for cooling purposes. However this is attached to the floor pan and for some reason it became un attatached and as i was reversing into the drive it snagged on the gravel and ripped the pipe connectors appart with diesel pumping out onto the driveway.

The car is off the road as i need to plump in a new section of pipe, the worst part was i had only filled up the tank with £50 of diesel. :(

BLOODY typical, of the 2 hdi's ive stripped, Ive NEVER removed the pipes under the car. assuming all of plastic and not a cause for rust like older metal pipes, I never bothered.

It IS a fuel cooler.. as much as a fuel heater on the head, theres a cooler on return to tank..

I've found a great site that sells all the nylon pipes and brass fittings plus lots of other stuff at SSL Diesel Parts at great prices, just ordered the repairs kit plus pipes and fittings for plan A & B to get the old girl back on the road. Should be able to do the repair Friday. I will let you know how it goes.

Cheers :-D
