hi people , i bought a 2.0 hdi picasso non runner , it comes up with immob fault on the dash ,
what im planning to do is swap the parts from my other picasso to it ,
am i right in thinking its ecu , bsi unit and chip from the key i need to swap over??
is there anything else? i spose its worth swapping the chip ring thing from around the ignition barrel too ,

Hi, we are up too late for this !
can you not just get the key rematched to the car, there is a process to reset it all isnt there ?

i could but i have a complete running car for parts here at my disposal , i just wanted to be sure thats all i need to swap over to save money,
from what ive managed to find , its the ring on barrel , bsi and ecu , ill prob fit the chip into the current key unless changing locks works out better,.

You need to get it on a Lexia to see what it is upset about - just changing parts at random is liable just to cause you grief. It may just be as simple as the aerial around the ignition barrel has failed (a common point)

Re: picasso immob ecu etc
if his willing to change that part too, which he is then there shouldnt be a problem. his not changing parts at random either.
Re: picasso immob ecu etc
as above , hoping tomorrow to get a start on the car and get the bits swapped , fingers crossed all goes well,.
Re: picasso immob ecu etc
The aerial round the barrel is not a coded part on the Picasso so you don't need to swap it with the ecu, bsi & key. However it can cause the key not to be recognised so may be worth swapping it first as it only takes 5 minutes.
Remember there are 2 different types of multiplexing on the Picasso (changed around 2002) & the components are not compatible. You need to determine if it has com2000 or not, early models without com2000 have the horn on the end of the indicator stalk com2000 models have it on the airbag, bot lots of ecu's need to be off the same type of car.
