C3 Heater Control Problems

my wife has a C3 60 plate and we had a problem with the heater temperature control dial. It would not turn to full heat and was very stiff, local mechanic we use has fitted a new cable( part number ENS DE CABLES 6452R3) this has made the control dial feel mechanically OK and turns and functions smoothly. However now we have no control over temperature it is hot only. Has anybody any experience of this problem, I have some pictures of new cable & type of heater fitted but cannot seem to attach. Local mechanic is at a loss & advised we contact Citroen. My thoughts are that cable has fixed what was a mechanical problem, but now an electrical fault has developed.
Any advise would be great also about attaching images.
