Noisy Power Steering - Yep it's the Mi16 again!

On full lock and steering sharply at low speeds the steering makes an awful grating sound (accompanied by a squeel too).
It sounds and feels as though the pinion teeth are jumping along the teeth on the rack, though I hope that's not the case!!!
Anyone had this on their cars?

Apparently you should't hold power steering on full lock for very long!!! (Not good 4 it)
Mine makes straining hydraulic noises when i do it for too long....
