Citroen c5 x7 problem with engine jerking

Hello guys. I have problem with my Citroen C5 x7 2009. Sometimes when I accelerate it happens that the engine is jerking. Previous I had similar problems, but on Lexia diagnostic it point to fault EGR. I replace EGR valve with a new one, Valeo, original part, and jerking stooped. But few days after, jerking started again, but not same as I had when EGR was faulty. Now on Lexia diagnostics I'm getting this error massage:

Remote fault
Temporary fault
Engine speed information incorrect value received

Anyone got clue whats going on? I think I will pour gasoline on it and set it on fire!

Crankshaft sensor maybe?

Well in January when I bought car, had similar problem and same error on Lexia. We changed crankshaft sensor, and solve problem. Is it possible that 11 months after, sensors broke again?

Is it possible that the sensor was a low cost copy? I replaced the (failed) front ABS sensors on Gracie with ones that cost about £10 each, only to have one fail within a year. I replaced both with ones from a known manufacturer (and cost over £25 each), and I hope these last a lot longer. They looked better made.

Hm...could be. Well I will try to clean it. Hope it would help. If not, will replace it with Citroen original, and hope jerking will gone. Cheers.

Quick update. Crankshaft sensor replaced in Citroen servise....drived car more than a two week. Everything seems to be ok. Cheers

I think I may have the same problem. Is this something I can change myself as they are not that expensive to buy?

Citroen Service instructions for the DW10BTED4 engine (2.0 Hdi 2009 vintage) are quite straighforward.
The crank engine speed sensor is located around the crank pulley and is part number 1920GJ for that particular model/year - but yours may vary. Should be around £40 mark, but some cheaper, some more expensive.

Disconnect the battery obeserving the usual battery disconnection song and dance routine
Lift and support the vehicle with the wheels free.
Turn the steering to right-hand full lock.
Disconnect the connector to the speed sensor.
Remove :
The securing bolt
The engine speed sensor
Refit :
The new engine speed sensor
The securing bolt tighten to 7Nm
Reconnect the connector
Return the vehicle to its wheels.
Reconnect the battery......
