Well had a good Christmas day but....
The inside of the screen was very misty, possibly due to the passengers window being left down a bit in the storm we had a few days ago, inside was rather damp. Anyway started to clear the windscreen to go to daughters for lunch and knocked the rear view mirror, the bloody thing fell off the screen.
Now the question, what to re fix it with, anyone had a successful outcome to one of these. Haven't had a really good look at the screen yet but from the original look it looks as if there is still a sliver of glass still attached to the mirror mount.
I have just ordered one of those suction mounted mirrors off ebay to make do until the better weather comes around (April time) as I believe I need the screen warm and dry to attempt a repair.
Any ideas folks

I have read that Ford have an excellent adhesive pad sold in their spares departments that actually works and is simple to use.

Re: rear view mirror on 3008
My dad's old late 1980's Ford Escort had a mirror stuck to the screen with one of those double sided sticky pads.
It was only when he got a genuine pad from Ford that it stayed on the screen.
Using the crappy ones from Halfords or Wilco resulted on the mirror bouncing off the dash after a couple of weeks.

Re: rear view mirror on 3008
Thanks Steve and biker for the suggestion. Did have a look at those special glues that were supposed to be made for the job but there were mixed reviews on them, didn't know which way to turn.
Your suggestion may be the way forward as I have one of those Telepeages for the French autoroute and the carrier is fixed to the screen with some sticky pad that's impossible to get off, must be the same stuff.
One other related question it looks as if there was some kind of metal plate that was fixed to the screen and the mirror was somehow slotted/fixed into it, I would like to extract the plate from the mirror and refit the plate to the screen with the sticky pad then fix the mirror back to this, do you know how the mirror was originally fixed to this plate. And more to the point how to get it off.
Bit of a ramble I know Thanks all
