Faulty fuel gauge

Hi, my series 2, Xantia, The fuel gauge has just decided to stop working ! it moves to a quarter full and stops ! with light on, when the tank is full, how can I resolve it? I hope its a easy fix, thanks in advance Terry. [-o<

Probably the sender unit in the tank. I think you can get to it from under the rear passenger seat, remove the rubber grommet in the floor.

NO NOT the sender unit in the tank, EVERYONE points to that, but in reality, its a wiper arm with resistance.!!

Id be more inclined to look at the Clocks infront of you, remove the speedo clocks, and open them up. Behind the speedo is a small extra cuircuit board, its tiny, and its NOT shown on the haynes wiring diagrams, anyway, this little board decodes the level sender signal to the guage signal, and is rarely known of...

Id be looking at swapping that first. Can you get some clocks from a wreker??? Shame your so far away, Ive loads of S2 assemblies here!
