Citroen Dispatch 1999 Gearbox issues

Hi all, I am having trouble with my 1.9D citroen dispatch vans gear selection, it will quite happily select gears 2,4 and Reverse but will not select either gears 1,3 and 5 and it feels as though these gears are 'not there'. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks

If it has a cable operated change, check the ends below the gear lever and see if a ferrule has come off.
