Lexia 3 V48 PP2000 V25 Diagbox V6.01 installation

Hello all from Bretagne, France.

Have finally bought the above - its arrived - along with 2 disks, 1 marked PP2000 and the other PP2000 V47 Diagbox v716.

Cripes , loads of software on them when we looked.

We are about to start the installation and when looking on the forum it looks like we have a long road ahead.

If you aim to use Citroen's Service Box (parts and repair manual) and SEDRE (wiring diagrams) on the same computer, install these first. This is because the later versions of DiagBox are set up to access these resources on-line directly from the PSA servers and you won't be able to install them if DiagBox is already installed.

Good advice - although there is a workaround for installing Service Box on a machine that already has Diagbox installed - use Windows task manager to kill psaagent.exe before running the Service Box installation and it will install normally.

It depends on how fast the PC is. I have all three discs, and it took 5 hours for the full installation (3 of those were for disc 3, which is a dual layered DVD, 7.8GB, and a huge number of images/diagrams), and my PC is no slouch (scores 7.1 on the W7 benchmark).

You'll need winrar and a torrent client to download the actual files that the above files link to, which are in excess of 20GB. Took me a couple of days to download on a 30Mbit connection. Install time is at least 5 hours even on a fast machine, on the netbook I installed it on it took nearly 24 hours to install and runs like a dog, but it does run.

Installed it.

Can't find PSA Date Validator.

Where is it hiding or do we need to download it seperately ?

Hello all,

had problems, did a re-install.

SEDRE works but DOCBACKUP connects to a webpage and says in many languages

"A technical problem occurred. Please try to connect later"


Any ideas ??

I have had this problem before but I can't remember what the cause was. This forum thread seems to suggest that the problem is not using Alcohol 120% to mount the install ISO images:

To quote a recent PM I sent you which I don't think you received:

"Regarding the other problem, which readme file did you follow ? There are two readme files with somewhat different install processes - one called "How_to_install.doc" in the main large download from the torrent file, and "Citroen SBox Install Instructions.txt" from the "Citroen_SBox_Install_Instructions_SBox_Keygen.rar", its the latter one which worked for me.

It's also important to use Alcohol 120% to mount the iso images to install from, and follow the instructions for settings for it carefully - I tried to use other iso mounting software like MagicDisc (which I already use) and it didn't work."

If you did not use Alcohol 120% to install as detailed in "Citroen SBox Install Instructions.txt", then unfortunately I think you will need to uninstall and try installation again using Alcohol 120%.

The reason it doesn't work if you burn the ISO's to disks or use another program like MagicDisc is because the original DVD's use Securerom copy protection, and Alcohol 120% is able to emulate that.

Don't loose heart - Citroen Service box is challenging and troublesome to install even for those of us who work in computers day in day out...

When we first installed, we swapped between the two installation documents.

We un-installed then followed the simpler txt document.

Strangely it did not ask for a key this time so that worried us.

Yes , we used Alcohol 120%.

After the re-install, SEDRE good, DOCBACKUP bad.

Is there any chance that its a language thing and there is a French thing sitting somewhere on our machine, as it sometimes re-directs to the french version of a website - but not always ?

When you "un-install" it doesn't remove everything, including the registration key. To remove the remaining registry entries that the un-installer doesn't remove so that the installer will ask you for the registration key and language again, there is a java app in one of the archives you can run after un-installation which removes anything remaining. I don't know the name of it off hand and don't have access to the files at work to check just now.

As your main objective is to get the Lexia going I would concentrate on installing Diagbox first, you can always come back and try to re-install docbackup later.

If you try to re-install sedre/docbackup when Diagbox is already installed on the machine, just remember to use windows task manage to "end task" psaagent.exe before launching the installer and it should work fine.

Evening all.

Installed the LEXIA software, not the Diagbox yet.

Popped the lexia into the PC via the usb , all good there.

Started to use the software - cant see all of the screen.

Did a bit of digging and edited a file WINPREF.JS from true to false and an ECRAN.INI file to reduce the Hauter to 600 - still no good.

Cant see lots on the right and lots on the bottom.

Anyway , ploughed on - entered the VIN number etc.

Wont talk to the vehicle , wont recognise the ECU , nothing.

Cripes , this software is making me feel like a thicko....

Life seemed much easier with a feeler guage and a 1/2 inch spanner............

I'm a little bit at a loss to understand how you have installed Lexia without Diagbox, unless they have also provided an old version of Lexia.

All you should need to install is Diagbox - which includes and automatically installs a bundled version of Lexia and launches it as needed when selecting older cars that require it. In effect when you diagnose an older car like an early Xsara Diagbox acts like a launcher which launches Lexia for you.

What screen resolution is your laptop set to ? The Lexia app assumes that your screen is 1024x768 so if you are running in 800x600 a lot will be cut off from the side and bottom of the interface making it unusable.

If you're using a netbook with a screen resolution of 1024x600 (as I am) then normally the bottom row of buttons would be cut off - editing ecran.ini and changing Hauter from 768 to 600 is enough to rescale the user interface to fit in 600. I don't know what winpref.js is and have never needed to edit it myself.

If you've installed an old version of Lexia by itself I would recommend removing it and installing Diagbox 6.xx or 7.xx. As with most USB devices its best not to plug the interface into the PC until after the installation is complete.

When the installation is complete you can also check in windows device manager - when the interface is connected to the PC you should see a device called ACTIA, with no errors next to it.

I have only started using lex through diagbox, but I need to unplug and replug the USB just before the lexia is to run, otherwise the lexia interface opens and it WONT talk to car,.,
