c5 hdi playing up again......

Unread post by rodney »

only had this old bus a couple a months but its getting close to getting scrapped ,

when I 1st bought it it kept shutting down after a few seconds , after much messing swapping parts and being plugged in it turnt out the reg on the rail wernt registering any pressure ,

much messng and it started working again ,

then couple a days ago I changed fuel filter , and it all started again , eml came on and soon as you rev it or drive it then it shuts down agin till locked and unlocked,

ive unplugged the fpr switch on the rail and it will run and drive in limp mod but a bit poorly, im thinking that the high pressure pump is on its way out as its 100% a fuel pressure issue ,

anyone agree or have any info or oppinion on this?? as I don't want to buy another pump if it is unlikely to cure it ,

I like the car but its giving me the arse now , its a 2002 c5 2.0 hdi,.

Is there sufficient pressure from the lift pump?
They are a common problem, and poor performance will make the ECU shut the engine down.

I swapped this before with a spare when it did it 1st time and it made no difference , was from a working car too,.
