xantia heater matrix

hi all, Is it possible to disconnect the heater matrix hose from my xantia 1.8 sx to enable me to flush it out without removing any part of the cam shaft cover?

not sure if it helps but i did mine (1.9 td) by following the hoses down the back of the engine and splitting them from underneath the car where i found i had more room.

The design of heater matrix is crap, vertical instead of horizontal, therefore fills up with sediment. Try this first, remove the bottom hose from your radiator, then remove the thermostat, put your hosepipe into the stat housing and make sure the heater is open, allow the water to back flow for around 20 mins, this may dis lodged the crap if your lucky.
