Xantia height corrector problem

Post by davyc »

Can anyone shed any light on the fact that the front end of my 95' xantia constantly rises and falls both on the move and stationary. Somebody told me to replace the height corrector so I thought i'd speak to the people in the know before i dived in to do the job! If this is the suspected fault - how easy a job is it?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would first suspect the accumulator sphere - the gassphere that is located down on front engine block.

Cheers Anders, Is it accessible from the bonnet or is it on the underside (no haynes manual at the moment!)

Is it a VSX as mine oscillates, slowly, up and down while stationary though I've never noticed whilst on the move.

Davy-
Depends [:)]
Usually it's best accessible from under the car - as you'll find it hard to reach down using tools from top of engine - bonnet open.
