Post by cheesesliceking »

hello!
Im changing the Exhaust Manifold for a 4-1 steel beast & i have the gaskets that go one the engine block but do i need anymore for further down the pipe where it joins the rest of the exhaust system?
Cheers [:D]

On my Xantia TD there is a turbo attached (with a gasket) to the manifold. Where the exhaust attaches to the turbo there is a sort of cone shaped bit with a "ball shaped" fire gasket. By ball shaped I mean the fire gasket forms a sort of ball joint with the end of the downpipe. The non-turbo diesel models don't have the turbo and have a different manifold, but apart from that are similar.
Since you haven't mentioned what sort of car you have (unless there happens to be a Citroen 4-1) I can't really be more helpful than that.
