406Hdi poor torque below 1800 rpm

Post by Peter.N. »

I know you will say put the Lexia on it but mine won't work, its stopped talking to the computer. The car has very little go until you get to 1800-2000 rpm then takes off like a rocket. No lights on, tried cleaning the EGR to no effect. Any suggestions?

MAF I'd suggest.

Try unplugging it (ignition off!) then running the car with it disconnected. See if there's any improvement.

Note it may lack power above 3K with it disconnected (unsure on this)

Only way to be sure is to get your Planet install fixed. There's nobody down your neck of the woods on my Planet map, so I can put plenty of business your way if you get it sorted.

Andy

I had intended to try that but hadn't got round to it so thanks for the reminder. I would try swapping with the C5 but that will only do 3000 rpm anyway, which is quite fast enough for me although that pulls well at low revs.

Gibbo

I will try, I now have another laptop so will eventually try loading it into that, the main problem is that my brain runs a lot slower than the computer.
