Enquired today about the questionable build quality of a rather expensive item I recently fitted to my car. From my other threads you'll know my head gasket is a gonner, and I'm currently dismantling the top end. Only thing is this recent expensive replacement part fell apart in my hands, with all the durability of a Kit-Kat.
I was informed that if I were to send it away for investigation, after a couple of months I may get my money back...in the meantime I should buy a replacement. The thing is it's not a failed item, it's a poorly manufactured item. Like having a shovel handle made of balsawood, it might work once but then it would most likely break!
The item in question has a Vacuum pipe fitted to it, all I wanted to do was remove the pipe, I pulled cleanly on the pipe and ....snap the fitting pulled off the unit! Pulled off, no sideways shear, just pulled.
I've had nasal hairs that stood up to pulling better! [:D]
Has anyone else bought something that cost them a mint, only to bust it, through no fault of there own??
