Im thinking of getting a remap as with 109bhp I struggle occasionally when towing.
Does anyone have experience of mapping these engines and is the drivetrain ok with the extra bhp and torque?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 2.0 HDi remap?
hi Mark, I only have the plug in fuel rail fooler device.. but car is better for towing and day to day use..
No problems so far with drivetrain.. I am guessing the cars are able to take the power from the 16V 2.0 and the 2.2 anyway..
others will know more..

Well strong enough to take it!
I had a box which id sooner reccomend rather then an outright ecu map, fitted to my 110 hdi.. mine plugged into the injectors and the injector plugs into the box harness in parralell.. i ran mine from 156k to 256k with no issues.. its currently off the car while i trace a temperary fault not related to the tuning box.

Re: 2.0 HDi remap?
I used a tuning box on my 2.2 Hdi in an attempt to improve the abysmal fuel consumption, it didn't but it gave a terrific improvement in power and they are generally a lot cheaper than a remap. Remember though you are putting extra stress an the engine increasing the risk of head gasket failure amongst other things.

I'd thought about the tuning boxes but was not sure.
What are the "recommended" brands to go for?
Though i may still go for a remap.

Don't really know about brands, I looked at all those available on ebay and picked the one I fancied, it worked fine but I took it off as it didn't improve the fuel consumption.

Re: 2.0 HDi remap?
I've got a TDI-Tuning brand box on my Berlingo 2.0HDi, it works fine. I just went for the cheapest one for it, rather than the adjustable one. Makes a handy difference, and adds a few mpg too. This is , in my view is because it's much happier at low revs in high gears than it was before. Better than a remap as it's not expensive and I can take it off if I like.MonkeyMark wrote:I'd thought about the tuning boxes but was not sure.

I will, at some point fit the the 110 turbo bits I have in the shed to the Berlingo and have it properly remapped. Sadly, it's the wife's car at the moment and she won't let me.

Mine has a screw on it that I can turn. If I turn it too high, it throws an EML on over 4krpm. Like you, I like the low down pull it gives.jgra1 wrote:agree with Mike,, although mine seems to have some adjustments.. I think I have it set to the max,,

My missus, sadly, would notice. She is Colombian and appears to be a female version of Juan Pablo Montoya (Colombian hotheaded ex F1 driver, NASCAR driver and now indycar driver)
