Car would not start a couple of days ago. Ran ok the day before but I had run the tank low and wondered if that was the problem. Eventually traced to the pipes into and from the fuel filter. They were a little loose on the filter and were letting air into the system. If I pushed the pipes onto the filter all was ok. New pipes fitted (£137.00 THE PAIR) all ok.

That is expensive, are you saying you fitted new ones, or just resecured the originals ??
