L£xia clone activation issues

Post by jgra1 »

Chaps can anyone shed some light on my activation issues?

Quick summary
computer is an HP netbook, with win 7 starter edition, 32bit, SP1

Brought a l£xia clone, came with DVD’s (not looked at them yet)

Went to a Simon’s (Mandrakes) site and downloaded 3 Rars ..

Extracted those into a single ISO

Used 7-Zip to extract the ISO into its constituent files.

Clicked the setup file, waited about 30 mins for the software to install.. had some issues re firewall, turned that off and reinstalled.. get to the activation screen, add the correct user, but it won’t get much further than that.. tells me an error , reactivation needed.

I did do all of these steps again today, including downloading the original RARs again..

Just now I tried the reactivation, 10 times.. do I keep doing this till it works or should it work first time, as in the youtube video..

I have tried with and without wireless on, with and without firewall… but no luck :(

Don't do that. #-o

You need to either burn the ISO image to a DVD or mount it to a drive letter using ISO mounting software such as MagicDisc. (free)

Then run the setup installer from the DVD or mounted drive letter. Extracting the files within the ISO image to a folder and trying to install from there will not work.

This may not be the only problem you're having but I know from personal experience that it won't install successfully by extracting the files from the ISO.

I doubt whether virtualisation being on or off in the BIOS would cause any problems.
