Guys,
Just putting my NEW Xantia S1 on the road today.
Battery was flat (as you would expect from standing for 4 nearly 5 months. Am trying to recover that now.
However, when I opened the door, there is a rapid clicking as though the alarm is going of.
What confuses me is there is no immobiliser in this car. I have never seen a Xantai S1 without an immobiliser.
Question is:-
Do I simply have to open the doors with the Plip? Or,
Do I have to insert key and press internal alarm sensor and switch on?
As the battery is probably on its last legs, I don't want to cause any false activations but neither do I want to disable it.
Advice / Musings please?

Re: Potential Alarm Issue with my NEW Xantia
My '97 Series 1 Xantia didn't have an immobiliser, nor did it have an alarm. Mind you it was a ex-Japan spec VSX in New Zealand.Rhothgar wrote:Guys,

In some countries I think only the Activa (and maybe V6) got an immobiliser in Series 1. Of all the Series 1 Xantia's I saw in New Zealand, only the Activa's had immobiliser keypads and few had alarms.
Are you sure it actually has an alarm ?

Re: Potential Alarm Issue with my NEW Xantia
The alarm is disabled in the usual manner.
Had enough charge to just check it but looks like battery is now shot. Damn shame as it was a Citroen battery!
More original the Mark MTND's Xantia!
